Weekend Homework - 23/04/10

1) Mass Unit Worksheets
2) 2 other sheets of Mass Worksheets ( number statements and word statements must be stated for word problems)
3) Parents to sign on Written Expression Test
4) To revise for Written Expression SA1-- refer to grammar notes ( in personal homework file) to familiarize with past tense, to refer to vocabulary notes for impressive vocabulary and idioms ( in purple file)
5) Purple file to be brought back on Monday
6) To revise for Spelling SA1
7) Pink letter on Financial survey to be handed in (for those who have yet to do so)
8) P1 Registration forms ( only for a few pupils) to be re-signed as Pupil's names were not stated.

9) Optional homework ---If your child can cope, let him/her attempt the following higher-thinking order word problems ( to be presented with number statements and word statements and to be handed in on Monday.)   * Priority to be given to revision of SA1Written Expression and Spelling.

(a) Nine boys brought 4 apples each.  Four girls brought some apples.  There were 64 apples altogether.  How many apples did each girl bring if each girl brought the same number of apples?

(b) Jane and Linda have $72.  Jane has $48 more than Linda.  How much money does Jane have?

(c) Mrs Smith and Mrs Gopal shared 90m of cloth.  Mrs Smith received 34m of the cloth.  How many more metres of cloth did Mrs Gopal receive than Mrs Smith?

(d) A clock cost $20 more than a book.  Mrs Lee bought 2 clocks and a book for $76.  Find the cost of 1 clock.

(e) Devi and Mei Mei has 250 stickers altogether.  If Devi has 30 more stickers than Mei Mei, how many stickers does Devi have?
